GREENEVILLE, TN- The Dickson-Williams Historical Association will host a Holiday Open House at the Mansion on Sunday, December 12 from 1:00-5:00 P.M. This event is a fundraiser to purchase shutters for the Irish Street side of the Mansion. Tickets are $5.00 each. This event will continue the 200th year celebration of the completion of the Mansion. Earlier this year a re-enactment of the wedding of the original owners, Catharine Dickson and Dr. Alexander Williams, was held at the Mansion with many distinguished guests portraying Catharine and Alexander, their parents, brothers and other original guests at the wedding. It was also a fundraiser for shutters for the front of the Mansion. Shutters are the last piece of the restoration of the Mansion which was begun in the mid 1980’s. At the Open House Sunday, the beautiful hand-made period attire worn during the re-enactment of the wedding held in August, will be on display. Additionally re-enactors will be present to tell stories of the history of the Mansion. There will be musicians and refreshments available as well.
